How do I become an American Heart Association instructor?.

Becoming an American Heart Association instructor is "as easy as 1-2-3." Consult with an American Heart Association Training Center to find out whether the Training Center (TC) is accepting new instructors and the TC’s preferred course delivery.

AHA's Core Instructor Course...Your first step toward becoming an AHA Instructor

 

The American Heart Association Core Instructor Course (CIC) is an engaging, multi-media tool designed to provide a foundation for teaching and facilitating regardless of an instructor's area of specialization.

The Core Instructor Course provides consistent and uniform instructor training, eliminating material that is repetitive across disciplines while ultimately creating more effective ECC instructors.

Taking the CIC:

There are 3 methods you can use to complete this course, and your Training Center determines how you should take the course, so you must first consult with your TC Coordinator.

Take the course online through AHA’s Professional Education Center. This is the only delivery method that offers continuing education credits.

Purchasing the CIC:

Existing Training Centers and Instructors use the special code only accessible through the AHA Instructor Network. This is not a TC security code. Instructor candidates must confer with Trainng Center.
