Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Intended Audience:
- For healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies and for personnel in emergency response
What does this course teach?
- Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device, and use of an AED.
- Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest.
- Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia.
- Airway management.
- Related pharmacology.
- Management of ACS and stroke.
- Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team.
Participants must be proficient in the following prior to attending the course:
- Performing BLS CPR using the current AHA Guidelines for CPR & ECC.
- Reading and interpreting ECGs.
- Understanding ACLS pharmacology.
- Performing the BLS Primary Survey and the ACLS Secondary Survey.
Prerequisites:
- Prerequisites for Initial Certification: Current American Heart Association BLS for the Healthcare Provider card and Basic EKG experience.
- Prerequisites for Recertification: Current American Heart Association BLS for the Healthcare Provider card and Basic ECG and Pharmacology skills.
- The current American Heart Association
text book and the completion of the pretestis required for both classes and must be brought to class.
- Initial Certification $205 includes book. Initial Certification without book $165.
- Renewal: $145 includes book. $99 if you have the book.
- The book is required for the both classes.
- There is a $25 cancellation fee.
CEU's:
- Prism CPR is approved by the Nevada Board of Nursing for Continuing Education Units.
