Basic Life Support
Course Description
The American Heart Association Basic Life Support course is designed
for a wide variety of healthcare professionals. It teaches the ability
to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, how to provide CPR,
use of an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective
manner. The course is intended for certified or non-certified, licensed
or non-licensed healthcare professionals.
Intended Audience
Healthcare providers such as physicians, physician assistants, nurses,
nursing students, certified nursing assistants, dentists, dental
hygienists, dental technicians, paramedics, emergency medical
technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational
therapists, physician assistants, residents or fellows, medical
students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants, and other
allied health personnel.
