Heartsaver® CPR/AED Course
Course Description
The Heartsaver CPR/AED Course is a classroom course that teaches basic
CPR and AED skills such as, giving CPR to an adult, child, or an
infant, using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), using a mask
or barrier device, and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction to all
lay rescuers, particularly those who are expected to respond to
emergencies in the workplace. Although the course may be used to teach
CPR and AED to all lay rescuers, it is also designed for lay rescuers
who are required to obtain a course completion card documenting
completion of a CPR and AED course.
With the new guidelines the course now includes the AED skills.
Course offers the opportunity to learn basic CPR with feedback from an instructor. Uses the research-proven Practice-While-Watching method to provide students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible during the length of the program.
Intended Audience: Community: Any person who wants to learn basic CPR and AED skills. Individuals seeking credentialed training for job or regulatory requirements.
Workplace: Participants include Clark County School District Employees, Basic Skills Trainer, Personal Care Assistant (PCA), Security Guards, Personal Trainers, Office Personal, and Life Guards. Designed for employee training at companies, corporations, businesses or other entities. For employees and/or designated first responders who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements.
Mimimum age: Approximately 8 depends on child.
